The whole sequence was rendered and composited, with the final addition of a dinosaur to make the wheel’s journey through time complete. See below for before and after shots of the green screen footage.

In addition we designed the show’s logo and all the on screen graphics for the set and gameplay.

When the show first launched with the highest new BBC entertainment ratings for over a decade. Since then, the format has been widely sold internationally.

COMPLETING THE WHEEL

The concept for The Wheel title sequence came directly from Michael McIntyre, who had also conceived the whole show format. We storyboarded all the scenes and produced an animatic so that we could work out exactly how to shoot the sequence in collaboration with Overexposed TV.

On shooting day on the green screen, there were some more requests from Michael, which were able to incorporate and test as we went.
